Genial daughter

They all may be pleasing
And they all may be servile
But none stands firm in front of those looks
In front of that genial daughter smile

To greet me a ‘hi’ in front of her dad
             Being the most challenging act
And she does it with perfection
             With an utmost tact
Those waving of her fingers
And a subtle movement of her lips
Tries to steal from her dad’s eye
             With those orthodox flips

But she is one of those rarest daughters
             Who doesn’t change her attitude
Even when her dad is absent
             She maintains her rectitude
Her decency being her greatest asset
She speaks so less, that I know
Even if she desires to talk to me
Her words are no more than ‘yes’ or ‘no’

Those are the reasons
Why every dad will feel proud
As I also pray to God, no matter
To grant me a wish which I desire
And bestow me with a Genial daughter
