Deutsch Lernen

The first day Deutsch entered my life
The day I first visited Max Mueller
I never expected things would take such a turn
That I would end up being a nursery Schűler

Sitting in the Klassenzimmer
Reiterating eins zwei drei
I went back to my childhood
Where A, B, C were worth giving a try

I tried to gain all the information
I really tried hard to concentrate
But confusions overruled under no compulsion
I could not pronounce a word straight

Such was the state of my mind
I was praying for the class to be fertig
Constantly looking at my watch
That when it would be evening seiben-ur-dreiβeg

I ran back home that day
But the next day was entirely different
I had the antwort for every frage
All of a sudden Deutsch became interresant

Now…
I realized the advantage of being a novice
At times you could be falsch, at times you could be richtig
No girl is going to sue you
Even if you take your chances with “Ich liebe dich”

So the second day was better
As I was trying to do all the aűsfulen
Danke der Lehrenin
Who made us do the wiederholung

Aber, I was living in my own dream world
Thinking about the girls from Műnchen
Learnt enough Deutsch to frame the satz
Du hast schőn grűne Augen!

Well…
Grűne Augen? Difficult to find in Kalkutta
Need to find a wort for black
Before Deutsch becomes so Global
That every girl now keeps a track

At last, we thank Frau Moitra
Who took us to Wir from Ich
Aber, we only have one problem
She always says, “Schreiben Sie nicht!!”
