On the other side of the road

A glimpse of her eyes through the speeding cars
Was like a flash from million stars
It was a jolt right within
I could not help to be carried in
It was a bolt from the clear blue sky
I stared at her just to give a try
I wanted to talk to her
I wanted to know her name
             But she was standing
On the other side of the road
             With an innocent unaware fame

I walked towards her
             With a distinct confidence
But without any brain
             And sans common sense
I looked straight into her eyes
             Neither left nor right
And I crashed on a biker
             To engage in a fight

I had to win over him
             To maintain my remaining dignity
             For she was standing
On the other side of the road
             Creating a blissful serenity

I kicked that guy
             But he punched me out
With a swelled face and a black eye
             I left that bout

I headed towards her covering my eyes
Thinking about the excuses and all the lies
Then came a guy and she sat on his bike
It was her boy-friend that I didn’t at all like

In a flash she was gone
             And gone within no time
And I could just stand and cry
             That baby you’re mine
And all of a sudden
             A horn honked my ear
I ran to a side
             As my life was dear

             I waited out there
             As another girl came
             Again she was standing
On the other side of the road
And I wanted to know her name…
